InvenSense Gyro measures seven axes.
If three, four, five, or even six axes weren’t enough for you, TDK has developed the InvenSense ICM-20789 MEMS seven-axis integrated inertial device. The part combines a three-axis gyroscope, a three-axis accelerometer, and an ultra-low noise MEMS capacitive barometric pressure sensor. The ICM-20789 encompasses a single small footprint, with a low-pressure noise, just 0.4Pa RMS. In addition, excellent temperature stability is exhibited, with a temperature coefficient of ±0.5 Pa/°C.
This low temperature coefficient enables the temperature stable capacitive pressure sensor to measure pressure differences of ±1Pa, enabling the ICM-20789 to detect altitude changes of less than 5 cm. As a result, the part is well suited for drone applications, as well as wearables, navigation, and fitness/activity-monitoring products.
Housed in a 4- by 4- by 1.365-mm package, the InvenSense ICM-20789 is available immediately, as well as evaluation boards.
