Microchip Aids in Achieving AEC-Q100 with Temperature Sensors - News
January 22, 2024Microchip Technology launched its MCP998x family of automotive-qualified remote temperature sensors. The sensors are designed to provide 1°C accuracy over a wide operational temperature range. Within the family are five sensors equipped with shutdown temperature setpoints that are resistant to exploitation.
Embedded Executive: Busting Memory Myths, Microchip - Podcast
December 20, 2023Memory is typically a very simple component in your embedded system—or is it? I spent some time with Barry Blixt, a Director for Microchip’s memory business. We went through a list of typical memory “myths” to determine what’s true and what’s not true. Does memory wear out? How about rotating memory? These are some of the topics we covered. Check out this week’s Embedded Executives podcast.
Ten Things to Consider When Developing ML at the Edge - Blog
November 27, 2023From predictive maintenance and image recognition, to remote asset monitoring and access control, the demand for industrial IoT applications capable of running machine learning (ML) models on local devices, rather than in the cloud, is growing rapidly.
The Road to the RISC-V Summit: Microchip - Story
October 30, 2023Microchip is packing up in Chandler, Arizona and will start its trip to the RISC-V Summit in Santa Clara, California, November 7th and 8th, 2023, and November 6 being Member Day. Microchip will be demonstrating its market leading FPGA solutions for the intelligent edge and how it leverages the RISC-V ISA to design heterogenous processing architectures for non-proprietary instruction set architectures.

October 23, 2023SiC technology is taking power electronics to new levels of efficiency and power density, solving key challenges as today’s global green initiatives transform entire industries including automotive, industrial, aerospace and defense.
Web-based Power Simulation Plays Key Role in Silicon Carbide (SiC) Design Success - Story
October 20, 2023The electrification of everything is driving the rapid adoption of SiC semiconductors that offer the fast-switching capabilities, lower power loss, and higher temperature performance necessary to help drive advancements in E-mobility, sustainability and industrial applications.
Protect EV Electrical Subsystems with Microchip’s mSiC Technology - Story
October 18, 2023The trend toward higher bus voltages in Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) and Hybrid EV (HEV) electrical subsystems has created the need for a more robust circuit-protection strategy. Traditional electromechanical solutions raised concerns about reliability and a slow response to overload conditions, prompting designers to consider the faster and more reliable solid-state circuit-breaker (SSCB), or electronic fuse (E-Fuse), approach.
